Happy New Year from Advanced Dental Concepts!

The year is almost over, so Drs. Faulkner & Spurlock, as well as our team at Advanced Dental Concepts thought we’d ask: what was memorable about 2010 for you, and what are you most looking forward to in 2011? Do you have a new year's resolution, or any exciting plans for the coming year?

Have a safe and happy New Year, to all our patients, friends, family, and all our dental and medical colleagues in Pace, Milton, Pensacola and the greater Greater Gulf Coast area.

See you in 2011 everyone!

Christmas Lunch at Advanced Dental Concepts!

For our Christmas Lunch, Dr. Spurlock's wife bought us all checkered scarves. We all feel very blessed and are so thankful for our jobs and our family here at Advanced Dental Concepts. Instead of us buying each other presents, we decided to help provide Christmas gifts to a deserving family in our local community.

Cranberries and your oral health

This holiday season, be sure to add cranberry sauce to your dinner table. Cranberry relish, which is made of one of the most antioxidant-rich fruits on earth (more than 150 different health-promoting phytochemicals), may reduce both stomach ulcers and tooth decay, according to studies.

Cranberries, which are low in calories and high in fiber, make it harder for Helicobacter pylori -- a bacterial culprit in stomach ulcers -- to adhere to cells lining the stomach. Cranberries also help reduce plaque by fighting the buildup of bacteria-harboring biofilms, which results in less tooth decay and gum disease.

We encourage you to read this helpful article on the many benefits of adding cranberries and cranberry sauce to your list of lunch and dinner items this holiday season.
