Omega-3s and your dental health, from Advanced Dental Concepts

Recently, our staff at Advanced Dental Concepts came across an article about the dental health benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids of marine origin. A new study in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association reveals that omega-3 fats such as salmon and tuna cut the numbers of oral disease bacteria.

Advanced gum disease, known as periodontitis, is a chronic inflammation caused by the accumulation of bacteria at the gum line. The condition can lead to bone and tooth loss. While this is encouraging news, our doctors and staff at Advanced Dental Concepts want to remind you that self–examination is another simple way of looking after yourself. If you are unsure about self-examining your mouth, please give us a call and schedule an appointment!

We encourage you to read the rest of the article!
